We knew from the moment we first considered Running The Country that we would need the help of many good people and good organizations.
We are happy to announce that one extremely good organization, the Sitka Conversation Society, is now partnering with us as we Run The Country.
Sitka Conservation Society is committed to “protecting the natural environment of the Tongass while supporting the development of sustainable communities in Southeast Alaska.”
We are committed to promoting a healthy food supply, plant-based diets, and active lifestyles.
That perfect fit became clear the day David spoke at the “No GMO salmon” rally in Sitka—a rally the Sitka Conservation Society supported with time, materials, community involvement, and talent.
The Sitka Conservation Society has done extensive advocacy work opposing genetically modified salmon as well as community work to build sustainable food systems. SCS is partnering with us because of our mutual concerns about genetically modified organisms.
We extend a Tongass-sized Thanks to the Sitka Conversation Society for lending their good name and reputation to our America-sized run.
And we invite you to support us as we support our mutual need for a safe and healthy food supply.
Thanks to SCS, all donations are tax deductible!
If you haven’t already done so, go to sitkawild.org and learn more about the good work of the Sitka Conservation Society.
